Dome light stopped coming on with door opening - the sliding switch was the problem.
Door lights work, rear passenger courtesy lights work, but the center dome lights would not come on with the door.
Symptoms:
1. Was hearing an electrical 'buzzing' coming from the lights when the door was open.
2. Eventually the lights stopped coming on with the door (but you could still press them and turn them on manually)
Pulled the light assembly out of the overhead fixture (four small plastic tabs you see after you remove the clear plastic covers) and removed both wiring harness plugs.
The sliding switch has a metal contact piece that snaps into place, and is tensioned by a spring.
To remove the sliding switch carefully use a screw driver and bend the switch around each plastic tab (there is 4) while pushing up on the switch from the bottom.
The metal piece had become deformed over time, and had some residue built up on the contacts.
I had to use a screw driver to pop the metal piece out of the sliding switch (two tabs), and bent it straight/flat again. I also restretched the spring to add more tension to the metal bracket. To save yourself time, use a volt meter to make sure the switch is working (you just need to test the two large metal pieces that run down to the switch).
Dome light works with the doors now, and the buzzing has stopped (as I have improved the contact surface).
