Slight whistle during hard accelaration

I just noticed tonite that when I punch the gas and get on the car, i hear an instant whistle. I have the Ztube, KN drop in filter and PRo1 Y Pipe installed. I didnt hear anything before, but if I roll my window down and keep it in a gear and keep pressing the gas at high RPMs, i do hear like small, quick whistle sound? Could this be from the Ztube/KN setup? or Ypipe? it is only when i Rev hard and at high RPMs. SOunds like my old intake I had on my other car...just wanted to get your feedback on this guys..thanks!

maybe u can hear the air getting sucked in , and you only hear it for a 2nd because once the engine picks up speed its louder than the sound of the intake...

I had this sound with my stock intake setup, a VERRRY slight whistle. Once I added the Z tube/pop charger it only got louder!! However this sound also get's louder with the Ztube/K&N setup as you mentioned. Stock is the most quiet and with the Z tube you will most likely increase the 'whistle'.

yes its from intake system.. sounds great IMO... I got a question for you. How does your car sound just the y-pipe and your intake system? Is it worth the money?

honestly, i like the whole setup, ztube, kn drop and YPipe..there is a more of an aggressive sound from the engine, SLIGHT though...after the YPipe install, it seemed to have smoothed out alot as well. When i rev the engine or punch it, it pulls nice and smooth and sounds smoother..for about 3-400 bucks, you can't beat it..the gains are definitely their. You can feel it in the higher RPMs and overall feels better than stock...my only issue now is, should I bother fixing the ypipe 3" outlet into the stock 2 1/2" inlet pipe, or leave it as is....honestly, someone on this forum posted up the gains of his Gcoupe with only the Ypipe, nothing else and the gains were ok, 5hp at the wheels is pretty good...overalll installing the ypipe into the stock exhaust only helps, then having hte stock on in there, so it is a no lose situation..

I was in the same dilemma you were regarding the fix. I have my Y pipe sitting under my bed, but I figured like u said its a no lose situation at this point. Not to mention I'll be getting an aftermarket exhaust in the next 3 weeks so that'll take care of the fitment issue.
