g35 clicking noise when accelerating
I have a 2006 g35 6mt. When driving at a steady 2-3k rpms I can hear a ticking sound. When I clutch in to shift gears the ticking sound is still there. In neutral I can only hear it when revving the engine. Has anyone ever came across this problem? Help plz

Check your oil lol.
Otherwise it might just be the axle click. |
I agree with Urbanengineer. Could be low oil. Could be loud lifters (normal on these cars). If it sounds like its coming from the rear it could be the axle click which is very common

Does it sound like this?
http://youtu.be/SrAbSkG4gbQ If so, lifter tick. Check your oil. |
Thanks guys. Is this something to be concerned about setting that I fine an oil change 6k miles ago? The oil should last 10k...

Our cars burn oil a bit quicker then normal cars but 10k oil as advertised on the bottle doesn't actually last that long without having to add. Most cars burn off small amounts of oil ours burns a bit more. I usually change my oil around 3500-4k. Check the oil level. It's probably low after 6000 miles.

ok so this is the most relevant thread i can find in regard to my issue. i have a axle click... i saw the video and everything about greasing up the shaft (giggity) and flipping the axle upside down. i just wanted to know what is the logic to this? does any one know? some one told me its like rotating your tires. sorry for jacking up this thread btw lol

I guess what u hear clicking are the two surfaces rubbing together and the grease lubes it. However I failed at resolving the noise with grease twice.
