First G35X 5AT AWD to 6MT RWD Driveshaft Issue NEED INFO

Hi all,

I am in the middle of what I believe is the first ever G35X AWD 5AT to 6MT RWD conversion.

Things have been going well, got the LSD in with solid aluminum bushings I machined, the interior is all buttoned up, and I am ready to start my wire tuck before installing the longblock which I will be painting gunmetal gray.

The reason I am starting this thread is because I ran into my first snag this weekend.

I bought a 6MT driveshaft expecting it to work out like the other guys who did the swap. Not the case.

They relocated the driveshaft support studs because of the T case. The tranny crossmember seems to be in the right location. I am hoping the total distance from engine mounts to differential mounts was not also changed.

I am thinking a solid aluminum driveshaft will workjust fine because the length from the tranny to differential SHOULD be the same as the RWD cars after I put the new transmission in...

1. Does anybody know for a fact that this will or will not work?
2. If anybody has a used aluminum 1 piece shaft (rare) please PM me! New from Z1 is not too bad if it comes down to it.

Wish me luck guys... I am hoping to be the first guy to go through the 6 gears in SNOW MODE this winter!
