NEED HELP ASAP Valve Body/Transgo

So today i got the TRANSGO installed on my 2007 G35 AT , with 67k miles on it.
I got to watch the tech do the install , everything looked to be going smoothly. He drained the pan , then unbolted everything , and then took the valve body out.

After he started taking the valve body apart, and adding in the new springs/valves.
Then he drilled some new holes on one of the plates , and started puting everything back together. Ok you get the point , he did the install , i went for a walk since i was sitting there for like 5 hours. So he started filling it up and were about to go for a drive , and it doesnt reverse . Like at all. He tried to rev it to 3k rpm , and still nothing.

Im curious whats the cause of it ?

SO long story short , drove it all the way home , and still no reverse please help

Only a transmission specialist could tell you exactly what may have been done wrong. My guess is that something was either left out, or assembled wrong. I would only have the kit installed by someone experienced with it. Best bet now would be for him to call the kit manufacture who may be able to point him in the right direction.

He took it apart , like 3 times , drained all the fluid , and re did it . Used the whole day pretty much to see if he properly installed everything.

Now when i drive it , feels extremely sluggish and a lot less power .
Going to call a trans company tmrw , thanks for the response

edit: he's done 7 other transGO installs , and said this has never happened before .. but yea who knows about that

If in the process of trying to fix the reverse issue another problem has surfaced it would appear that he may not be qualified for this job. The obvious thing would have been to contact the manufacture for help. Hope it works out for you!

Sorry to hear about that. What area are you located in? I don't know anyone as of now that's done it on a 2nd Gen G, but I can ask around.

Im located In socal

Ok , so i went to a local transmission shop, and he said hes worked on the nissan pathfinder trans, which is similar. He stated that the trans needs a reflash . So today i take it to nissan , and they tell me that it has a hard code of p0507(yea right) , and that the valve body is bad.

P0507 - Idle Control System RPM Higher Than Expected

Ok so basically this is what my car does. I can drive it , but it feels like somewhat in fail-safe mode or some time of limp mode, because i can drive but the rpms are a lot lower than normal, and i also have no reverse. So the first transmission guy says it needs a reflash , and nissan dealer says i need to replace valve body ... hmmm has anyone heard of this ?

From what you have described IMO the transgo kit was not installed correctly. Call Transgo yourself and explain what has occurred and see what they suggest. Any codes being thrown now are only being caused by the install problem. Anyone not experienced in this mod can only tell you what their tests show and they have no idea what may have been done internally. If I were in your position I would take back to the person who did the install and insist that they contact Transgo and ask for help. If the installer refuses to do that you only have two possible choices. Either get another new transgo kit and take it to some one more qualified or buy a new valve body and have it changed back to stock. Perhaps Transgo can recommend a local installer. Good luck!

ok so the dealer called back , and i think he didnt know what he was talking about , so i asked for the specialist. He stated that whoever installed it , must have installed it wrong just how you are stating. He said he might have drilled the holes improperly thats what it cant get enough pressure to the reverse. SO all in all i think im going to get a new valve body , and just get this over with. The guy that installed called TRANSGO and they stated to take it to a tranmission shop to get the code ? Dealer said there is no code for this part , so im in the biggest loop ever atm ???

damn..$2k!? This kit is usually goes for $270, and labor for $300-$500 max.
Part #: re5r05a-hd2 on Forged Performance or Summit Racing website.

Here's the install manual: http://www.gtmotorsports.com/pdfs/pr...E5RO5A_HD-2.pdf
I'd hate to have to track back a mechanic's mistakes, but I've had to before with other things.

Grant Plummer in San Diego did mine. Haven't talked to him in a while, but I can reach out to him to ask if he's ever done one for the HR motor. LMK

Grant is the one who installed it , and the dealership cant determine the problem unless they take apart the whole kit , which would be 300 just to drop it and and figure it out, and thats not a guarantee if they put it back in. SO they recommended to just get a whole new valve body , unless i want to put my old parts in , not sure what to do . Grant took it out the valve body 3 times and insisted everything is right , so im not sure what to think ;/
