Hi guys, my friend crashed my car the other day, spun out and rolled back into a pole. He was in tiptronic at the time of the collision and it caused the shifter to get stuck in that position. I had just been able to pop the shifter back and now the car can move. But theres no gear display for Park, Reverse, and Neutral. The Drive position display M1 and the Tiptronic position now displays Drive. Seems like these 2 gears have been switched around. Does anyone know the solution to this ? And how I can get the screen to display the gears again ? Thank you.

 

I think you may need to take the car to a shop. Is the car drivable? How bad is the damage?

 

When it was stuck in tiptronic the car would not move because the ecu thinks the car is in neutral. Now that I've popped it back, the car can drive, just that these 2 gears are switched. I rather fix things myself than bring to a shop, maybe i'm just a diy person haha. The collision broke the rear bumper, rear tail light and cracked the paint on the right quarter panel.
