larger injectors

Hey guys i've been wondering for a while but don't recall ever finding an answer as to if larger injectors will be needed at some point on an NA build. I know as you crank up the boost on forced induction builds larger injectors will be needed to match the airflow but can an NA build require moving up to larger injectors as well? I ask this question because i bought a G with a built and ported head and some other mods and i always had an error code for the motor running lean so i assumed slightly larger injectors would get rid of that but i realized that the ecu won't adapt to the higher flowing injectors and a tune was probably what i needed the whole time. Sorry if it's a dumb question i'm still trying to learn and understand the ideas behind built motors
