Camshaft and EVT position sensors
Hi community,
so I'm getting some hard starts for a while now and just today the ses light came on. I checked the code and it was P0340. It's saying the cam bank sensor 1. (2006 Coupe rev up)
I read on one thread saying it was the angled one and on another saying it was the straight one. I'm getting this one
http://www.courtesyparts.com/oe-nissan/237316j90b
can anyone confirm that this part is for the cam sensor bank 1 in the passenger side? Also, anyone that has a 06 coupe rev up that had P0340 problem come up that can help confirm that changing the bank 1 cam sensor with part 23731-6J90B helped clear the code and didn't bring any other problems after changing the sensor. I'm hearing so many different stories.
thanks for the help!

Get Nissan OEM ONLY! Do not waste your money on aftermarket sensors. Correct part number is 23731-AL61A, it is angled and for the passenger side. Have a new, unopened one right in front of me. When the driver's side one went out, I got both since they often go out one right after another. Turns out the dealer I bought my car from used a non-OEM replacement on the driver's side and 2 of the 3 pins were bent into the plug and not making contact at all with the male end of the plug.

Got it, I ordered the oem one from amazon for 77 not bad compared to other places.
Im I looking at it wrong? This one looks like it is straight not the angle one. I'm changing the bank 1 sensor (P0340):

Okay I'm officially going crazy...
The second post in this thread after the the original post shows the sensor is angled for bank 2 drivers side but it doesn't look like the one I got from amazon which looks straight compared to the one on the thread:

The one you linked is angled for Bank 2. It's just the angle of the photo, but the connector is definitely angled.
This should make it simple for you

You sure your not getting it confused with the passenger side. I've read that the passenger side is the easier of the two, since you don't have to move anything unlike the driver side which you have to move the intake and throttle body.
On the DIY also somebody posted a photo of the driver side cam sensor and it was angled.

What engine?
OP, do you have revup or non-revup engine? the rev-up has 4 sensors, aside from the pic illustration above, the rev-up DE has 2 intake and 2 exhaust sensors and they used the same part #. Here is the thread:

Yeah I have the rev up motor. I ordered the part # 23731-6J90B. From everywhere I read everybody is changing the bank 1 cam sensor for the code P0340. I think I'm on the right path? Idk I've been reading threads since yesterday and some people have different stories. Now I'm reading people that fixed the P0340 problem by changing the sensor get other codes and problems after changing it. Hopefully this isn't the case, I'll be throwing my head against the wall :/
