motordyne 3/8" performance data

I have seen a lot of data for the 1/2" spacer but very little feedback, much less dyno data, on the 3/8" model. can anyone who has installed the 3/8" provide some thoughts, feedback, butt dyno data, etc.

thanks

Doing the install this weekend - will post about it as soon as I can.

Not sure when I'll actually get the dynos though.

did you install your z tube yet are or you going to do it all at one time (spacer/tube)?

I don't know if you saw this response on the 3/8":

This is the first post of my impression after I had 3/8" spacer installed. No mods except ztube, G-kit, and K&N filter (see my signature).
I noticed better fuel efficiency as well like Dizz. 91 octane 23.5 mpg from nav, not from manual calculation. But from the past mpg consumption via nav, it's between mostly 19 to 22.5 mpg and rarely 23+.
My driving habits is more or less WOT for about 3 - 5 seconds everytime entering freeway (just to have some fun) and maintain smooth acceleration/deceleration at approx 75 to 90 MPH. Normal local driving habit is unless I'm in a hurry to change lanes otherwise rarely WOT.
With this official tank, I had 2 trips of freeway driving with approx 120 miles one way, 2 trips of freeway driving with approx 40 miles one way, and 2 days of local driving with a total of approx 15 miles. The fuel empty lamp lit up for a few minutes right before I refueled with Shell 91 Octane.
I' merely stating the facts from my experience. This is the first tank of gas officially with the spacer, fuel efficiency is still under evaluation. My butt dyno says definitely gains with a feeling of less restriction of air flow during all RPM range espcially during WOT. The spacer itself is a quality piece and Tony's customer service is exceptional, which for some people would be a make or break deal to do business with nowadays!
Congrats again Tony! Job well done!

Yeah - I saw his post and it got me even more excited.

I am doing the install for everything this weekend. Only time I have time for it. Going to my brothers so he can help me (plus he has all the tools).

And I'll second his comment about Tony - Tony has been great!!

You guys with 05s are so lucky.
03-04 people had to wait for a while for the development to catch up.

It will be interesting to see if the spacer has any impact on the 05's performance. It is my understanding from reading threads over at my350z.com that the 30th Anniversary Z and the 6MT G's have a different lower plenum....it remains to be seen what this difference really is versus the 03/04's. But the 298 hp was achieved by Nissan through exhaust valve timing and other things....I suspect that the lower plenum changes contribute something. I don't have any facts.....I just suspect it has some changes that help. I'd like to see if the spacer helps TQ and Hp as dramatically across the rpm range on the 05's like it does for the 03/04's.

we have seen the hp and tq data for 03 and 04's with the 1/2" spacer but I have seen no data on the 3/8" as of yet. I believe this is the 05 lower plenum you are talking about?

maxpower........do you think there is a chance we could purchase the 05 plenum for $200 and get the same results as the 3/8" or 1/2" spacer or the crawford plenum? Maybe someone with an 05 could measure the front thickness of an 05 plenum and we could compare it with an 04? I am also waiting for information on the 3/8" spacer, I would like to keep my engine cover if we get the same gains..........

I put my 3/8" spacer on today and i felt a noticeable difference in midrange power, im not very good at determining when my car is faster, but i could definitely feel and hear the difference.

i also have a z tube and K&n in

that is what I have been wondering about I have the at so only 280 hp, the 6mt has the increase in hp to 298 and I am wondering how much is due to the new plenum. the 3/8" spacer is probably worth 5 hp (guessing based on 1/2" data).
