i was sitting in my car the other day, and wanted to listen to the radio. so i put my key in and turned it a bit so the radio would turn on. which made me think of the time i went to the benz dealer to check out some cars, and u could turn the radio on while the car is off(withOUT the key) on most of thier higher end models.

just wondering if this feature can be applied to our cars? and how?
ive become less inclined to mod my car in any fashion that would increase its speed, how fast/power is gonna be enuff ya kno? insatiable. but as for improving the comfort and enjoyability of jsut being IN my car even when its off. now thats something i'd pay for. ima real gimmicks person lol. push start button? omg. bluetooth? i dont even ahve anything that uses bluetooth, but i still want it. see. im that bad. ;\

but yeah, back to the initial reason for this thread. anyone have any input?

 

I suppose if you hooked up the accessory line feeding into the harness to a constant 12v power source, the headunit would always think that the key was turned

i haven't tried that yet, but you can definetly eject ur cd's without the key being in the ignition, so its possible..

I remember a 03 coupe at the autoshow a couple years back that had the radio and dash lights on so, I am thinking it's some kind of key trick or something like that.
