DIY Supercharger kit
DIY Supercharger kit
I went to a meet this weekend which got me thinking about cheap ways to add more power to my G. Everybody says you can't go FI for cheap... But aren't there lots of cheap roots style blowers (Eaton, etc) from stuff like Grand Prix GTP in junkyards all across America?
Is there a technical issue I'm not aware of preventing somebody from grabbing one of these blowers, machining a custom bracket, ebay intercooler, upgrading the fuel system, tune, and then you're ready to go with safe, low PSI FI for around $1000 all in?
I have the resources and mechanical design experience to do this but don't have practical experience working with FI.

To start, you'll need a new intake manifold, and probably a new hood, if you're going to drop an Eaton M-90 on top of a VQ. I suppose you could just cut a hole in the hood as well. :-D
