Others have speculated that they've had similar results with the 4.3L GM V6, and maybe Mobil1 and these engines are just not a great match. It happens...
I can tell you that Mobil1 in my wife's Sequoia is a match made in heaven. I can go 9000 miles (maybe more) between changes without concern. So I'm not knocking M1... just exploring the results oil analyses have presented to me.

It had 218,000 miles on it and right before I sold it I had Precision Honda in Pleasanton, CA do a compression check for ****s and grins. The CC showed that I still had 92% of full stock compression after 13 years and 218,000 miles. I have run M1 in all my cars since then. I did run 10W-30 though...
So I believe that oil may not necessarily play as substantial a role in an engine's life as much as many of us want to believe. So I do oil analysis not to extend my VQ's life, but more as a hobby than anything else. It may simply be that M1 and VQ just don't go well together.

Well the logical next step would be a 40wt such as M1 0w40 or something close to a 40wt such as German Castrol 0w30. I will personally do UOA's with both of these oils once I'm past 10k miles to see if they are better then the Pennzoil 5w30 dino I'm using now. Would be interesting to see if our VQ's are happer with an A3 rated oil such as those two.
what range does the owners manual say you can use? I run 0-30 in my current car.

I'm sooooo confused! Let's get to the point! Is Mobil 1 Super Sync. a good product or not? From what i heard that Infiniti hasn't test the Sync. oil for the VQ Engine. Correct me if I am wrong. Can someone make a main point of MOBIL 1 of advantages and disadvantages.
Thanks
