2004 G35 replaced IPDM old issues fixed. New problem arrives.

So I recently just changed my ipdm after it causes a no start, etc etc etc.

Now, everything is solved in my car, expect one.
The wipers turn on and do as they please, the second the battery has a ground.

Anywhere to look? And yea, I unplugged the Fuse for the Wiper motors, and they still go.

Looking for guidance, as I really hope I don’t need another IPDM

Relays are internal to the IPDM, control signal is sent from the BCM.

Use the FSM and troubleshoot out the circuit to narrow down where the problem is located, section WW.

well, diagnosed that the IPDM I picked up for 20$ at a pick and pull was no good either.
Now I can’t find much of any info on this. But the IPDM I grabbed. Was from a 2004 (same year) but a four door.
my Coupe has a K (Q006) as the part number.
The sedan has a L (Q067)
do you think this was the real issue?
The fuses and relay all lined up. Even the fuses are all labeled the same across the board.
should this IPDM have worked still (assuming it’s 100% working)
but the fact I have a coupe and it’s from a sedan be throwing off a few things.
Aka causing the wipers to go off once the battery is grounded.
I’m not very strong with reading electrical diagrams and honestly not too positive on how to test.
But the fact that my stereo still sounds like it’s trying to Eject a CD, kinda makes me think Ipdm is messed up

another side note. I found in a post but lost it.
Someone mentioned that wipers going off in a. “ 20 sec on with no control, then 10 sec off with no control”
i can eliminate it being my stalk. As I can still spray the wipers at any time.
The wipers Can find their “Park position” that eliminates the motor not being able to sense it.

Any advice is a blessing, diagnosing electrical is not a strong spot for me.

I'll dig through the FSM's and try to get you a definitive answer on that this evening.

Ok I can definitively say the sedan IPDM will not work in the coupe without significant rewiring, the pin layouts are completely different for quite a few subsystems. I suspect the IPDM you replaced it with initially was a sedan IPDM. I suspect this is what caused your wiper problem in the first place is the one you currently have in the car is ALSO a sedan IPDM.

So you had

FIRST, the initial IPDM that went bad

SECOND, a replacement IPDM that's caused you to write this post.

THIRD, the pick-n-pull IPDM, which was verified to be a sedan one.

I think the second and third IPDM were both sedan ones. Were you able to verify the source of the second one?
