Using a Spill Free Funnel

Replaced my radiator (KOYO) and thermostat. Bought a Lisle funnel for use when burping the coolant system. Went to install the funnel last night, but the funnel doesn't seem to fit.

When placing the funnel insert into the neck of the radiator, the top surface of the large diameter portion of the insert is below the top of the radiator neck. As a result, when the funnel cap goes on, it doesn't compress the gasket at the base of the insert (insert 'floats freely' in radiator neck). Funnel instructions specifically state cap and insert should create leak-proof, movement-free fit. Attached a picture for illustative purposes.

Not compressing the gasket seems like a recipe for ending up with coolant everywhere. Am I missing something here? Any modifications that can be made to ensure the proper fit? Done a ton of searching the forum, and can't seem to find anyone else with a similar fit up issue.

Naturally, found some answers under related topics only after I created my post. My apologies. As suggested in the threads below, will attempt to either fab my own gasket/use one of the others provided with the funnel to make it work. Still open to additional suggestions from people who have already conquered this issue. Thanks.

You should be able to use it out of the box. Used it a few times on the G with no problems

Tried all the fittings/gasket combinations provided with the funnel and none of them worked. Only way I was able to get a "leak proof, movement free fit" was by using additional gaskets provided in the peerless plumbing kit (see first link above).

Ultimately didn't matter tho because I had a leak at the thermostat when I started filling the system. That PITA gasket probably didn't seat properly. Have to pull it and try again.
