Modding car during breaking period...

I just traded in my 04 coupe last week for an 05 coupe. I took out the CAI I had in my old car and was planning to hook it up in the new car today. Will I have any problems if I hook up the aftermarket intake during the car's break in period - even if I drive it conservatively? I wouldn't think it would be a problem, but I wanted to see if some experts out there knows for sure. Thanks.

Steve

It really doesnt matter what you do to your car within reason during the break-in period, as long as you dont go above 3k for about 1500mi. The number one concern is the piston rings sealing. Putting the engine under a lot of load at high rpms could damage the cylinder walls if the rings arent completely broken in. Using full synthetic oil too early also is a bad thing. Full synthetic lubricates too well and doenst allow the rings to seal properly.
