2008 G35X - AWD Light On

Stored codes C1204 & C1210. Do I need a new AWD module P/N 41650 JK500. Is yes, does it need to be programmed? If needs programming, how can I get that done?

I don't believe there's any programming available for it, typically though if you're throwing both those codes then the module itself has burned out since it's lost both ECM signal as well as it can't see the AWD solenoid in the xfer case. The chances of both your transfer case solenoid AND your ECM failing at the same time is pretty slim, however the chances of the AWD computer that's reading both those things failing is quite a bit higher.

I remember a thread a while back for the V35 chassis where someone disassembled their module (it's just a few screws that holds a cover on) and the circuit board was visibly cooked. You could probably check yours as well, the V35 chassis it was near the steering column but I think the V36 chassis they relocated the AWD module to sit under the glove box next to the fan motor and ECM. Just be sure to disconnect your battery first before you go unplugging any computers like this.

If it has failed that part number you posted should work, a quick eBay search of modules for 2007-2008 all seem to use that part number. I see different revision numbers (the 4 digit number on the bottom row) but typically it doesn't matter which revision you get as long as the main part number is correct. They just source different capacitors and stuff like that but it's all built to the same spec.

In the electrical schematic it receives power from fuse 33 (10amp) in the fusible link block so you should check to make sure it didn't just blow a fuse as well.

Hey Roushd,
Were you able to figure out the issue, I'm having the same issue and what I did was check fuse and module so far. Fuse was okay, replaced module after seeing the inside seem to be kinda burned. I think last case is either wiring to transfer case or replace case itself.

Yes, went under car and figured out the wires were smashed by something under the car. Repaired the wires and awd light went away.

Thanks for the fast response, the transfer case wire? or some other wire down there? Haven’t replaced anything yet, Started to get the awd light and had the same past stored codes so trying to see where to start at.

Yea the transfer case wire. At first, i replaced the module for like $10-20. No change to the light. Then I'm thinking has to be either the tcase or something going to it. Jacked up the car, went to the plug that goes into it. I think it did move a little but enough to show it's broken. Then I was just bored and decided to follow the wires from it. Then I noticed it was leading to a tight area, pulled the wires and boom. Saw it was crushed. If I remember correctly, should be 4 wires. I then repaired the wires with speaker wire but matching up the correct color to color. Started her up after, awd light was gone. But while I was driving the car, prior to me fixing it and with the light on, I didn't hear any grinding that's why I went to inspect it myself and not just replace the case blindly. Hope this helps.

Alright gonna check to see if i find any crushed wires and try the module itself appreciate it.
