Crawford Cast Plenum and Engine Noise

2 parts

1) After I installed a Crawford cast plenum, I noticed a buzzing sound periodically coming from the passenger side of my engine. Also, for a couple weeks now, I've noticed that during idle there is a puff puff sound when the engine is warm, and I know it isn't smoking dope. It doesn't do it when it is cool. Has anyone experienced this or have an idea what it could be?

2) Does anyone recommend a tune up shop in Orlando? I just installed my Crawford cast plenum and I've had a K&N Typhoon CAI for about 4-5 months. I would like to get an A/F check and do a dyno as well. Some people have talked of advancing or retarding their timing too. If anyone has a recommendation or opinion let me know.

Your input would be appreciated.

Installed myself, but I'm a perfectionist when it comes to this stuff. I hate problems, as I guess anyone does, and I definitley followed the directions verbatim. Every bolt is tightened and hose sealed. Just can't figure it out.

Try to switch back to stock Plenum and see if the problem goes away or not. So, that way, you can pin point where the problem coming from.

G'luck

Dave- Come to the next CFL meet if you can. We'll have several DIYers take a look at your install. Keep an eye out in the SE Forum for details.

Is the oil cap "ring" caught beneath the plenum and the lower manifold?
Are all of the hoses on right?
Does your plenum have red or orange looking loc-tite around the fittings and hoses?

No cap ring issue, thank god Doug pointed that out in the directions because sure enough it was stuck in there. Red loc-tite around the fittings and I used the high temp RTV gasket maker on the three fittings that have been found to leak. I did a 12 hour battery disconnect last night and I'm going to hook it back up today.
