I insulated my Z-tube
I believe the warning applies to the after market Cold Air Intake. The stock air box keep the z-tube in its proper alignment, but the brackets for the other's (ie. JWT Pop Charger) which is what I have, put the edges of the clamp very, very close to the a/c line.
I bought my "tape" on eBay. I used it on my cat-delete pipes & new y-pipe a while back and had some extra. I've seen loads of race cars with this stuff on their intake, so I figured it couldn't hurt.
