V8 + Twin turbo = 700+HP

 

i think it would be a good swap, especially if the engine were tuned. 6.5k rpm and your typical I/H/E would hopefully put down 300whp without too many problems. on an 04 it might change the weight and balance to be more like the 05 (gaining a pctg point or two toward the front, like the IS430 did)

but 300whp would likely allow the car to probably outrun a E46 M3.
The next question is how responsive that engine would be to FI.

Forget it and just buy the stroker kit for the Vq35 and turn it into a 4.3 liter V6. It will put out mad HP and you can build it with a low enough Comp Ratio to run a turbo to, this will get you your 700hp... only it will be to the wheels.

 

Have you ever heard an uncorked V8??? Not to mention it would be more reliable too

 

Gosh you guys are so conservative around here....On the Lexus forums, people were encouraging and applauding the first guy that had the idea and did it. I don't think one person told him he was basically dumb for thinking about it.

That's why every g35 on the road looks the EXACT SAME...not saying mine is any different but I definitely say props for originality.

And how could you compare the price of a used $20k g35 + $10k for v8 and custom fab/fitment (high estimate) to a $75k+ new z06.

 

Several years ago, or a year ago, I saw a thread about replacing g35's motor to M45's motor..
