VQ35de Power

Hey I am new to the boards and did a simple search and couldnt find the answer to my question...

I am woundering how much HP can be achieved out of a VQ35DE with out force induction...Now i know that with money you can get just about any engine to produce any horse power number you want. But I am saying wuts the most horse power avaliable on the open market. Meaning does anyone make a stroker kit for the car being an NA car... Secondly other than Tomie and Nismo does anyone else offer cam shafts and if so what are their durations. Thirdly whats the highest horse powered NA car you know of at the moment, drag or street..

THANKS

R32 GTR Skyline
OS Giken Tranny
HKS GT-RS turbos
HKS F-Con Vpro
N1 Buttom end
RB-X head...

They say you can have fun for only so long......Yet between 2500 and 10k rpms my car just makes me scream with a smile.

After the dyno days, it appears that 20 HP is the most you are going to get without FI.

I'm hoping to be 40+rwhp at redline right now on stock tires. Car currently has:

z-tube
k&n panel filter
Crawford "Total Package"
JIC Y-Pipe

will dyno in about 1 month and will report back with my findings. Second Annual CFL Dyno Day is in the works.

heres the link to the stroker kit for the g35 and z. I think it claims 400 to the wheels. It makes the engine to 4.3 liters but i dont think anyone has done this mod yet.

300whp has been the goal of many NA VQ35s and I haven't seen one yet hit it, although I heard someone say they did, I'm still waiting on dyno sheets.

That is pretty impressive and all but is it me or ar those 1/4th times a little slow for what he is making at the wheels? No disrespect or nothing but I would have thought he be in the low 13's.

damn... thats very discouraging. after all the money he spent on those performance mods he can only get that much out of the vq.

my friends rsx-s gets so much from just CAI and enhaust.

whats the snow/aqua-mist water-methanol injection?

Don't know much about cars, huh? How much HP/TQ does it take to get a 3400 lb car into the low 13s. Don't answer yet. The E46 M3 (3400 lbs) can do the 1/4 mile in 13.5 to 13.6 seconds and it has 333 hp. BMWs usually have very efficient drive trains (16% loss). He is making about 325 hp at the crank with 18% drivetrain loss, so he's dead on. Also, not know track conditions, i.e. elevation, humidity, temp; I wouldn't make a statement like that.

There is no surprise there to me. IT takes a ton of power to drop a second of the 1/4. THis thing can only wring out another 35-40 MAX and he's done it and paid the dimininshing return price for it. Exhaust is one expensive piece that is debatable IMO as cats and an after-market Y and Mid pipe with the proper size reducer cone is all you really need. Other than that and the flywheel/cluth, he's spent about 1500 bucks. Not a bad car at all IMO if you have a little extra money to play with and really enjoy your car. There will be no LOW 13's short of drag tires and all the NA mods possible or FI and or stroker kit. It's VERY fast when you get to 13.3 in the quarter. Those are vette and 911 times...

Well, there is this 3.9 gear that when combined with the TS ECU for higher redline that has done wonders for some Z owners.

I guess Z's have a chance before G's for which I was referring. You could just bolt a VQ into a sentra and get 12's probably so there are exceptions if speaking just about the engine getting to a certain level of performance. Swapping to a 3.9 gear would work for heavy track users who stay off the highway but that isn't practical for many. You could take the brakes off the rear and just run 13 inch wheels too...there are always exceptions, many of which i neglected.

Also, a 60 foot time of 2.126 ain't so hot - no offense to the driver. Could be tires, track conditions, inexperience, etc...

My best 60' is 2.0xx on summer tires in 45 degree weather. These cars don't launch very well. 245 width may be too narrow, but due to VDC and most people runnin the 245/275 option, the 275s may be too wide. I'll find out this spring.
