No chance whatsoever. 300 at the crank, sure. But not even close to 300 at the wheels. You're going to need forced induction (TT or Supercharger) to break 300 without replacing your engine.

Add in cams with a more aggressive profile, larger custom throttle body, port / polish head work, light weight fly wheel, lighter wheels and tires and 93 octane and you MIGHT be the first 300rwhp NA VQ35DE there is. This is Crawford's approach to hitting that number.

BTW, they're on round 3 of the cam design so let's just say that the 300rwhp number is not easily attainable.

You're going to need some sort of ECU tuning, as well, to maximize all your mods.

Hrm.... what about with an 05 6mt?

I mean 298 at the fly should be at least 255 at the wheels right?

That means you need 45 more hp. Everyone says the plenum and crawford cats make a "huge" difference...together maybe 20hp. 25 hp to go, get headers, intake, pulley....maybe another 20. 5 hp to go.

Lighter flywheel...

Seems like that would put you at 300 at the wheels....at least with an 05?

Technically, a lightened flywheel won't give you a HP increase, from what I understand. The lightened flywheel will allow the car to accelerate quicker, as the engine will rev up faster, but it won't technically 'increase' hp.

But it does take off parasitic drag so that the rear wheels would get more power and put you closer to that rwhp goal.

From what I have been recently reading and understanding a carbon fiber drive shaft like the one the track 350Z has should had a little more power to wheels by reducing the drive train loss by around 1%

That is correct.

'Lightened flywheel' or 'lightend' anything does not actively generate power. What it does offer is reduced power loss due to the inertia of accelerating an object w. mass.

This power-loss saving is dynamic and not a fixed quantity. In the case of the lightend flywheel ... it will depend on what gear you're in. In the lower gear, where acceleration is high, you'll enjoy more net power to the wheel (less lost to inertia) compare to higher gears. This is the very reason why it's tough to prove the usefullness of 'lightened' components on a dyno, which is typically set to have a ramp up time similar to 4th or 5th gear acceleration from a stop in the real world. The same theory would apply for the lightend shafts, pullies, engine internals, etc. to various degrees.

So then what your saying clint is that the lighter drive shaft wont give you a noticable gain?

Go check the 350z forums. I bet a few of those guys have about 300hp to the wheels. I saw a dyno there with engine work done at about 285hp and he wasn't done modding. They seem to be much more aggressive with their modding than members here.
