Re: In development
On a related note, I'd like to see someone offer a speaker adapter to fit after-market 6.5" speakers. The stock speakers are built into a plastic housing that makes it more difficult to upgrade them. (All four speakers are identical.)
I've tried a couple different Scosche adapters (SCOSAVW6 and SCOSAT6), but neither of them fit well enough for me to use them.

Hey guys, here is a conceptual photoshopped pic of the afore mentioned project (not the greatest pic, but you get the general idea):

The console will be of double-din size, and allow you to mount your aftermarket stereo/LCD/navigation/etc...
Special thanks to dyenboy for his help!
Prototypes for the console are currently in the works. We hope to have them available soon at www.g35parts.com . We'll be sure to update you as this progresses!

Re: In development

Or you could be used like the Q45 LCD, as a rear view mirror.
Note: BMW in the rear view was an honest mistake

Just a quick note.
Because weare working on the fit up for an aftermarket stereo Unit for a G35 I wanted to show everyone something.
In order to get it to work this piece needs to be modified.
And guess what this piece alone from the dealer is $475 uggh

Godzilla,
Some of us may want to keep our stock radios but have a place or places to put additional gauges in 21/8-25/8 holes. The only place I see that makes sense is in where the NAV unit would be and if you have NAV, in the compartment above the glove box.
So I guess $300+ is what it is going to cost for the center console piece? How about the gauge holder in the other compartment? Thanks.
Merlin.

A double-DIN dash kit like this is already available for the Skyline in Japan. I would assume this fits. It's in the Skyline parts catalog that I have here. A couple of people here have said they're going to Japan. Maybe they could look for this? I'm sure it won't be cheap, but it might be better to do that than to go through the hassle of making your own. Just a thought...
