I was just wondering why everyone is getting the K&N Drop0in instead of this?

I will be getting my Z-tube tomorrow and was considering getting this Air Filter instead of the K&N. Has anyone on the boards have this one?

That's way too much money for a filter which provides probably 1 hp. Also, I'd imagine that more particles would pass thru a non-oiled filter with "holes".

Most people get the K&N because of availability and price. I have the Nismo but will probably change back to the K&N when it gets replaced. The only advantages to the Nismo are: 1.) that it is a dry filter so there is no chance of messing up the mass air sensor and; 2.) some of the tests I have seen on the K&N appear to show the filtration is less than optimal. (Not dangerous but, less than stock.)

Is the Nismo filter disposable or washable? $85 for a disposable filter is stupid.

I too had a friend tell me that when he saw the K&N, it appeared that it was letting more dirt through too so I was just wondering if this one would be better. I may try it before the K&N. Thanks for the replies!
