Tein S Tech Spring installation (DIY people only please)
Tein S Tech Spring installation (DIY people only please)
I have a buddy who is coming to me with a g35 coupe and wants me to put his S-Tech springs on. I need to know the specific torque numbers for the front shocks. I also would like to know any problems anyone faced doing it on their own.
I searched and noticed that most people forked out a couple hundred to get them installed. I haven't taken a look at the car yet, but if the rears are separate that should be a snap, and I'm only worried about the specific numbers for the front.
Any helpful info would be much appreciated.
P.S. this isn't my first time to install springs or struts, etc, just need the G35 specs, as I've never worked on a G before.

sweet, thanks alot cyphr, would you happen to have the rear setup diagram, too? So I can see what I'm dealing with?
is there any alternate reason why I haven't found anyone on this forum who's done the install themselves? Some hidden difficulty vs. normal strut/spring combined setups found on other cars?
I've done this tons of times on Nissans (I own 2) and other cars, and it's never been a huge hassle worth 300 bucks for some... it just seems there's a hidden hurdle somewhere....

the back is really easy since the coil is independent of the strut, all you have to do is loosen two bolts on each side if i remember correctly. The front is a lot easier if you remove the A-arm. There is a DIY guide for spring install posted somewhere. Shouldn't take more than 1-2 hours if you know your stuff.

on the rear the only tricky thing is the eccentric bolt and washer in the rear lower control arm, it looks like it adjusts camber in and out. i just eyeballed it and then took it to an alignment shop a month later
