Ethanol: Can the G use it?

In Wisconsin and Minnesota there are gas stations that are now pumping 85% ethanol made from corn. Apparently there's some website you can reference to find out if your vehicle can use ethanol, but I can't remember it. This stuff is priced at $1.85 per gallon, but I'm not sure if it will work in the G. Does anyone know?

Are you talking about methanol?

I dont think so. I have an 04 Tahoe that is equipped with "flex fuel" and will run on fuel with up to 85% ethanol. I dont think that the G is designed as such.

Nope, I am a MN resident. Unless you have a flex fuel vehicle "it will say E85 on the inside of the gas cap" then you can not. many of the ford tauruses are FF vehicles, very cool. It is good gas if your engine can run it too. performance like 92 octane.

check out the website.

Go corn farmers. I think this is a great alternative and wish I could put it in my G.

They have a list of vehicles that are E85 compatible. The 5.8 Liter Nissan Motor is.

The $1.85/gallon ethanol price may seem like a good deal but its not. Ethanol has about 40% less heat content than gasoline. So, even if the G35 ECU/Fuel injection was compatible with ethanol (its not), it would not save you any money because your mileage would be about 13-15 MPG highway, 10-12 city. It would burn nice and clean though.
