"What is" type questions; yes, I used search
Sorry guys, I'm pretty ignorant on this type of stuff. And yes, I search, but apparently used the wrong search terms because the results were > 500, and they didn't even date before mid 04.
Anyway, I've got two bone-stock g's. An 04 5AT, and an 05 6MT. Because of the purchase of the newest G, I have a very small budget, if any for mods. So, can anyone tell me what the Z-Tube is? What it does? And is it the "OEM Z Tube" offered by everythingg35.com?
Also, I've noticed people mentioning a grounding kit. Again, exactly what does this do, and why is it considered a good upgrade? And how will it affect the 5AT vs. the 6MT?
I'm not tracking either vehicle, and from my understanding the Z-Tube is primarily for sound.
Any help here?

I'll try to help you out as best I can...
Z-Tube: This is the intake tube off of the Nissan 350Z. Us G35 owners like to trade our intake tube for the Z-tube because the Z-tube is less restrictive than our intake tube. Some people say they do feel an increase in performance. I actually just installed the Z-tube on my '04 coupe today. It is definitely a lot louder than before above 3500rpms. Under those rpms, you can't really tell a difference. I think the sound is what gives some people the thought of "incresed performance". Yes, this is the same OEM Z-Tube offered on everythingg35.com. But try looking for it used....you can probably pick it up for $50 or so locally.
Grounding kit: The grounding kit is just a set of thicker grounding wires (I think 4gauge wire) than stock. I've read that for 6 m/t owners, grounding wires help for a quicker start up and a smoother shift feel. For 5 a/t owners, I have read that it does the same thing for the 6 m/t owners, except they may feel a slight gain in performance.

2 very good mods. Z-tube for sound and performance , and the grounding kit for smoothness and shift ease.
Z-tube will take about 1/2 and hour with minimal knowledge and tools.
Grounding wires depending on # will take 1/2 to 1 hour.
