Do Low-Temp Termostats really work?

I've thought about doing this for a while. However, is it a really overrated mod?

Yes they do work in lowering the normal starting operational temperature but unless you've got forced induction there's really no need for it.

Check out DaveO's article in SportsZ magazine one issue ago. VERY informative on why you'll damage your motor potentially if you are not careful. Most engines should be operating at 190-205. Your ECU is not even in the normal operating map at below 170.
