Injen CAI & the Foam Block

From what I've read, some people are removing the foam block completely, while others are just cutting 1/2 of it off.

How is the foam block attached?

Basically I'm trying to find out how to remove it the easiest. Does it really require removal of the front bumper, or can it be done by just peeling back the splashguard in the wheel well

Thanks!

When I installed mine, I removed the front wheel and pulled the splash guards back and with a firm grip pulled the foam block out. I didn't have any problems at all. If you go to K&Ns site, they have a good DIY online.

Thanks for the heads up! Checked out that K&N installation instruction sheet. Very informative. Basically 3 more of those plastic rivets hold in the plastic shield that holds the foam block snugly.
Here's the direct link: http://www.kandn.com/instructions/69-7080.pdf

When I tried to install the CAI I just peeled back the splashguard in the fenderwell. From that side, you can't see those rivets, so I couldn't figure out how to get that piece out. Without removing that, the filter wouldn't sit properly...

There's one rivet in there that's hard to get out, the one on the front. If you shake it enough it will come out. I tried to install my Injen CAI with the foam block in, but there was no way.

As stated above...pull it...

No I don't think so. This one is on the side of the bumper right when you peel back your front inner fender lining
