I have been watching these threads closely because I love Skunk2 and it seems to me that the only person that has one on thier G has the prototype version that was developed on their car...

You lucky F! Please post pictures of what you get and some after the install... I am thinking that Skunk2's spacer is going to become just as popular as the Motordyne spacer with the thermal package....

ok.. got it installed today during lunch.. took longer than I thought (2.5 hours) now I am hungry!

Items installed: Skunk2 plenum spacer, Motordyne thermal gasket

The material that spacer use is nice..feel like very hard plastic but yet light for it's size. Combine it with thermal gasket, it should work even better

and here's some pictures from the install...

I highly recommend that you find a way to replace the two missing studs with bolts. If you haven't already done so, you might try loosening all the bolts and see if a little "wiggling" will allow these two bolts to start by hand.

I did try the little wiggling thing..more than once , but it does not help at all because all other bolts line up correctly.

I just test drive it eariler (drop a coworker off) I notice the drive is actually better than before. Especially the first 3 gears... hmm.. maybe my mind is playing a trick on me? Anyway.. out of this 30 min drive, I don't have any problems.

And just for fun, I try to touch the plenum right after I stop the car.. and YES, it's hot but not burning my hand (lucky) only place my hand on it for 1 sec... hehhe...

Do you really have to drain the engine coolant per the instructions?

well, you can, but I didn't do it (lazy). I didn't remove the upper plenum completely, just push it high enough for me to work on it...but that should give you enouth room to install the spacer.

What kind of gasket/sealant did you use to install the spacer? Did you use the sealant on the top and bottom of the spacer? Would it be better to buy a new gasket at the dealer?
