If you are only looking for sound, sure. If youre expecting power gains, IMHO no. Our cars have a very effecient intake system from the factory no need to screw it up with a CIA, they do look good and sound cool, but allot of people have found that the Z-Tube and a K&N Drop In are just as if not more effective than allot of the CIA on the market. Just my .2

The stock intake is a cold air intake.

Let's not forget the increase in MPG that comes along with the CAI.

X2...stock intake is great (if not the best)...get a z-tube and K&N drop in filter.
I had a nismo CAI and returned it. Also, many w/CAI's complained about their car shutting off at high speeds (cuz of CAI). I've also heard u lose torque with some, but the sound is meaner.

I am starting to do some mods in my G35C and I am learning a lot from the posts. There are a lot of good posts about the z tube and k&n filters. I was wondering if anyone else has used a different cone filter besides k&n, like Apexi and how they like it? Also does anyone have the aluminum z tube and is there a difference? Thanks.

Better gas mileage with a cai? I find myself driving my car much harder now to hear that sweet noise above 3000 rpm. You'll find it tough for a while to drive like an old lady to get that better mileage.

A CAI isn't worth it, IMO. I'm planning to switch back to the stock box and K&N square filter with the Z-tube when I have to clean my CAI again.

From what I've heard, the aluminum absorbs more heat then does the plastic tubes. So, it's more for looks and probably not as efficient in the end. I'm actually thinking of Carbon Fiber since its inherent properties are more like metal without absorbing heat and looks nice too Although, there was a couple of reports with people with Z tube also stalling at high speeds while making a turn. It happens because when you turn you tend to step on the clutch which intantly lowers the RPM but it is still sucking in cold air. Something like that. Anyways, I think I may go to the Carbon Z or even the G tube with a K&N drop in.

I'd say I drive my car a little harder now b/c of my CAI. And my MPG still went from 16-17 to 19-20.
