mods and mileage

will increasing the HP via new exhaust and cold intake boost down the mpg, or the opposite?

anyone know the ETA on exhaust from nismo and intake by K&N? i know there are others available right now, but i'll wait for better quality products to arrive.

Re: mods and mileage

It will probably cause the mileage to go ever so slightly down in most cases. Hardly noticeable with those upgrades though. Most noticeable thing will be noise probably.

Re: mods and mileage

Andrew: I wonder if the mods - exhaust and intake - would make the engine a little more efficient therefore yielding a little more gas mileage. Just a thought.

Re: mods and mileage

I think you are right in that the efficiency might increase yet the engine would also be running higher wouldn't it? Better combustion therefore more fuel use yet higher efficiency. Maybe they would just cancel out and you wouldn't see any difference.

Re: mods and mileage

If the intake was better, you would theoretically have a richer mixture in the engine, causing it to burn a tad bit more effencient. But the extra gas that the air mixture will need will probably overide that efficiency. Overall, it's very minimal, like I said before. Exhaust probably won't cause better efficiency, but I think that would be pretty minimal too.

Hi KongzGx
RE Clear Sidemarkers:
Check out this Link to another post
RE Rear Tail lights
I konw the G dosent have any lighting products (sidemarkers/rear lights) out in production right now. cadilaccarl made some sidemarkers himself and you can also purchase some from clearcorners.com. The rear lights would have to be totally custom if you want them at this time. ClearCorners.com does custom jobs, give them a call or email mike@clearcorners.com for information. Im sure they can come up with a solution.
