What does it take to get a G35 in the mid 13's?

What would it take to get a 6 speed G35 to run low to mid 13's fairly consistently? Is it something that can be done with some bolt-ons, or should you just get a supercharger and call it a day?

Any sort of FI will get you there... or spray like crazy!

13.5 @ 109.4mph with 2.2 and 2.3 sec 60' times is what I consistantly get. This is with heavy 19" aftermarket wheels and toyo tires wrapped around them. Temps for these runs have been near 80 degrees and humidity has been high but that's the price you pay to live in FL.

Damn neff Im right up your ***.

With my mods I pulled a 13.8 @ 103 on Pirelli 240 winter snow sports.

This was done at Englishtown Raceway park, which is at sealevel and I ran the last week of August before I left, so I'd say the temp was around 75-80 degrees and 20-30% humidity. My best 60 was equal to neff's at 2.2.

I think my mods + drag radials will keep you consistantly in the low 13's (especially considering you can dump in at 6 grand with slicks) however, if your looking to have a true, 13 second street car.... my mods and possibly a shot of juice, as I really only think with better tires I could shave .1-.2 off that time. The 60 also needs work, but I'd like to get the equivilent(sp?) of traction bars, which I used to use on my Vortech'd Xtreme S10 to keep from hopping like a mofo.

The right combination of mods will get you into the 12's...see teh sig and you can do it without FI....

Don't bring your GF :D I'm joking :p

U might want to take out spare tire out and empty the trunk.

Wouldn't help that much but at least it's extra weight.

Also u can take off your rear seat to reduce the extra FAT :D

+1

And how do those 3.92 gears (let alone the high stall, cams and heads) effect daily driving. I could imagine you fill your tank every 2-3 minutes.

12.87 - 105 mph - before TS ECU

12.62 - 107 - after TS ECU re-flash

14.5 MPG average per the NAV info counter....no complaints here all!

E_K Oct 13, 2005 05:08 PM

That's very impressive for a G35 non FI, esp AT. Are you running stock headers? How was your AFR before and after the TS flash?

Woah man, thats one sick AT G. You must get one hell of a hole shot outta that thing. You're trapping 2 mph higher (before TS) than my car could and a WHOLE second faster. How is it at speeds (80+ mph)? Pretty good mpg, a little bit dropped from what I'm used to but man, I'd take that drop for that kinda performance. Also, what was your 60' and what kinda tires are you running?

1BADV6 Oct 14, 2005 09:28 AM

The real question is what did the gears get you alone? I bet they are a big part of it.

1BADV6 Oct 14, 2005 09:29 AM

Well not to mention the cams as well ;) but just curious about the gears.

Gears gave me 1.04 sec.
60' time is 1.69

Using stock manifolds - no headers yet. I had the originals polished and opened a little though when the heads were done to match.

Tires - currently running Nitto 555's on the racing wheels - daily tires are Pilot PS2's. Sized in the rear at 275/35/19

Damn, you need to work on your launches. That MPH is good for high 12s with a decent launch on street tires, and mid 12s on slicks. I used to run 13.2 @ 106.7 on a 1.9 60' in my old 94 mustang convertible that was putting down 295rwhp.
