Well you can spend the same amount of money on NA mods that you can for a sc or st kit and yet you gain more power from the kits. But if your persistent about staying NA and just add some bolt ons then you can go that route. If you have the new "rev-up engine" (05+ 6mt) you can try this mod out when it comes
1. https://g35driver.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70343
2. Intake (probably won't do much except for sound)
3. Plenum upgrades like #1
4. Headers
5. H/F cats / testpipes
6. Grounding kit
7. Exhaust / ypipe, etc
8. Reflash / SAFC-II ( for a/f ratio tweaking )
9. UR crank pulley
10. final drive gears
11. upgrade TQ converter
12. New valve body

might be some few other things that i can't think of at the moment, if it comes ill add.

you can always go NOS if you wanted , cheaper than FI kits and all those NA mods

Save your money until you change your mind about FI.

Best 2 mod packages are
1. FI
2. heavy duty clutch and light weight flywheel

YMMV

If you want to stay FI, here's what you need to get you CLOSE to 300 WHP:
*Note Item in partensis are good examples IMHO
1. Cold air intake (AEM or Injen)
2. High end exhaust (like Stillen, HKS, or Invida)
3. High flow cats (Crawford or Kinetix)
4. Headers (DC Sports or Crawford)
5. Cams (Jim Wolfe Tech)
6. New pistons and rings? (not sure about this)

Anything else I'm missing?

IMO, the best bang for the buck is the Crawford HF Cats.

Probably so, but they alone aren't going to get him anywhere near his goal.

head (or just port-polish stock head)
cams
headers
cats
Y-pipe
Possibly MREV after it's debut in December
ECU reflash

That should squeeze at least another 50RWHP out of the stock VQ, which puts you right about on target. Using very conservative figures, you should pull at least 10HP from the head, 10Hp from the cams, 20HP between the headers/cats and Y-pipe, and the MREV is supposed to good for at least 10HP (claims of nearly 20HP on a stock VQ). I've shaved a good deal of HP off each part just to get a conservative number.

I'm currently looking into the head and cams, so I do have much info on them at the moment.

Do NOT go with the AEM.....repeat DO NOT got with the AEM! You will lose power. I'm speaking from experience and have others to back me up on this one.

Here's what I have done. Please note that I have not dynoed with these mods, so I'm not going to quote you any figures. However, I can definitely tell you what works.

1) Crawford Cats (must have!)
2) Borla Exhaust (exhaust is more a personal preference thing. I love my Borla, but there are plenty other great kits. Be sure to get one that's lighter than stock though)
3) 10 Wire grounding kit. Really not a performance boost, but it just makes your car run better. Get one.
4) Z-Tube. (I have no idea why it works better, but I like it )
5) Pop Charger (again, this is a personal preference thing. Many people are for the Pop Charger, many people are for the Injen CAI. Whatever you do, DO NOT get the AEM intake.....or the Nismo for that matter. The AEM and Nismo are identical, since AEM makes the intake for Nismo. If you are going CAI, go with the Injen)
6) Motordyne 1/2" spacer with the IsoThermal gasket option. I love this mod. My car really likes it. The Motordyne spacer WITH the Z-tube and Pop Charger is a really nice combo.

My car has done of low end power because of my mods. Now, again, I have not dynoed any of these mods, so you'll just be taking my word for it. However, I have an automatic transmission and I guarantee that all these mods will work even better with a 6-speed manual (not sure which transmission you have).

Remember, some mods may not seem to work that well. However, when you couple them with other mods, they work great.

Hope this helps.

Jeff

A question:

Has anyone actually dynoed 300 hp N/A to the rear wheels (Dynojet, wheels-on) or to the rear hubs (Dynapack, wheels-off)? I know Doug Stewart at Crawford Z Performance has been working on this goal for a very long time, but I don't think he's made it yet.

I don't know of anyone that has pulled it off. Didn't Doug get to over 280hp with his car?

I'm not going to say it's impossible, but 300hp at the rear wheels is kind like the 4-minute for us humans. It took a while to get there, but it WAS possible.

It's up to guys like Doug and Tony to make it happen.

I believe Doug got very high 290's and then he went out and bought a MOTEC to test his custom cams. Never heard back from him as to how things turned out, but he isn't one to give up.

There was one person on my350z.com who lived in PuertoRico who claimed to reach 300rwhp, but that's the only one I've seen and his mod list was very impressive. My guess is that this goal would be harder to achieve on the G due to the longer/heavier driveshaft.

I know were not talking peanuts here, but for the RevUp pkg you just need to clear about 50WHP.

I'd love to hear from someone who's tried the NISMO head... ...or one from whoever makes the head for NISMO.

I'm also wondering how much to expect from the NISMO S1 cams (JWT) on the RevUp package. I remember reading the increase on the standard motor was respectable.

ISMSOLUTIONS has an auto N/A G running in the mid 12's. Granted he has the 3.9 rear pumpkin but it still has to have a good amount of power to the ground. He has port/polished heads, cams, exhaust, and some other good mods so let's see if he chimes in.

He's been a big help with 3.9 info. Been meaning to ask him more about the cams.

I got 287hp with just bolt on stuff. Stillen headers, catback, grounding kit, JWT popcharger & KJR OEM sized crank pulley. On a DynoDynamics.
