Exclamation Got my car back from Shop...OVERHEATING PROBLEM HELP!!

Hey guys as some of you know I got into an accident recently and had front end damage. I got the car back today and SOO excited. Bodyshop washed the engine for me but ever since I got it back my temp guage keeps fluctuating.
As I'm driving on the freeway just cruising I notice that the temp guage is almost hitting the "H" at the top. It kinda freaked me out, and as I'm about to pull over and check it out, I see the needle dropping and go back to the normal area. As I'm driving the fans start working really hard and the needle is up again and keeps going up and down.
I checked the coolant it seemed a bit low, but not enough to do that I'm assuming. Added some water temporarily until I get it checked out tomorrow.
Any ideas what it oculd be guys? Please helpl
thanks

Air in the cooling system. The G is not easily bled of all air in the cooling system. The FSM has a procedure to expell all air from the system, that probably needs to be done.

Squeeze your upper radiator hose and see if you have pressure in the cooling system. I’ve had similar experiences with other cars in the past and it has always been some type of leak. Or…a bad thermostat…or air in the system…better take it to a shop.

Regardless of what the problem was CHANGE YOUR FLUIDS AFTER IT IS FIXED! It may be expensive but your oil, coolant, transmission fluid, etc have been cooked.

i will check the radiator hoses. i had my guy at the shop look at it. He said there was air in the cooling system since they had to remove my radiator in order to replace the part that was broken. the glass composite fiber that holds the whole radiator in place. they put coolant in, BUT did NOT bleed the system. I was told to turn the car on when its very cold like a morning start, with the radiator cap off. As soon as you see the coolant moving up and down and about to overflow twist the cap shut. he said that should do the trick, if not he will just drain and fill it all.
Luckily for me my dad owns a co. tire and repair company so there isnt any charge for oil, coolant, tranny fluid etc. and most of it has been checked. glad to know its something simple, not like the thermostat or something big. thanks guys
