Hello whats up, i have a 2003 6mt Coupe and I just hit 40k miles. I was wondering if there was some sort of periodic maintanence that i am supposed to do @ 40k? Also I was wondering, do you guys always take your cars in to the infiniti dealer for the checkups that they reccomend i forget the exact #'s but i think its something like every 7.5k 15k 30k etc ? That would mean I am not scheduled for any maintenance for 5k more miles till i hit 45k? Just wondering since ive only put about 3k miles on my car so far (i bought it from a private seller about 4-5 months ago) so I havent really taken it in for anything except to a nissan dealer an oil change with the mobil 1 and k&n i provided them ( i didnt have time to do it!! ) .

Oh yea, one last question, the nearest Inifiniti dealer is about 45 minutes away, but theres a new nissan dealership that just opened near here, would they do maintanace/service the same way that they would service a 350z? Or would you reccomend I take it in to the actual dealership?

From what I understand the nissan dealer will be happy to do your scheduled maintenance. The real issue is what maint. needs to be done. It really depends on what's recommended by your new car manual vs what dealership near you will require maint. in order to continue the warranty.

 

the service interval infinit recomends is every:
3750 regular oil change
7500 oil change, rotate top off fluids
11250 oil change
15k oil change, rotate and balance, batt pads, air filter, top off all fluids,
18750 oil change
22.5k oil change rotate, top off all fluids
26,250 oil change
30k (big one..this is just what my dealer does all dealers are differant through some may do less), oil change, rotate balance, coolant drain and fill, trans drain and fill, rear end drain and fill, top off all fluids, adjust e brake.

and so on and so forth, theres more we do on a 30k but i'm hungover right now =P. i would recomend doing it, it does help in the overall proformance of the vehicle. hope this helped.

Nissan worked on all almost all the infinitis till all the dealers starting popping up everywhere, they would have no problem doing it, they just can't do anything with a warrenty concern since those have to be registered through infinitis process and through infiniti net =)
