Headers

I was just wondering if anyone on the forums has anything to say about the Stillen headers? Any positive or negative feedback would be great. Any sound clips?

Yea, I was wondering about DC sport headers because stillen is way over priced and I think its because of the name slapped on them "Stillen".. I am going to go with DC headers because I don't think one is much better than the other...

You have to figure - on our cars - you can only make headers a couple of ways - none realistically doing anything better over another - other than installation procedures. There's only so much room for so much pipe - so pipe diameter isn't going to change.

Ease of installation - well Strup has that one down = I think they're the only one that doesn't require the engine to be lifted - DC requires the driver's side to be lifted about 3" - and others require both sides. You have to figure that the ones requiring engine lifting are likely bigger or better designed to be equal length - therefore requiring more room.

Considering you can't see the things anyways - anything other than ceramic is a waste of money too. Polished only hold in heat, and heat everything up in the bay as well.

With DC or Strup - you get the same job and performance done for 1/2 the money of most others - under $1,000 installed!

I'm pretty sure Crawford is the only 1 requiring engine lifting. I've NEVER heard somebody with topspeed or DC saying it has to be lifted.

PLus what you say doesn't make any sense - Strup and DC are essentially 1-1 copies of eachother, just made by different places......if one has to have the engine lifted, so does the other.

Strup! I have them, and I absolutely recommend them. Get a hold of Dave at Partshippers...tell'mm 636Racer referred you. Try and see if they'll send it out for Thermal coating (Swain Tech, Jet Hot) for you...it beats wrapping them, and it's less labor and IMO, looks pretty trick.
