Engine Mount Torque Damper

Hopefully this thread can be a productive one for those people interested in getting a Engine Mount Torque Damper for their G/Z's!!

Who all has these installed?
What brand did you go with?
Where did you purchase & how much?
How is the quality, fitment, and is there actual evidence of what it's supposed to do, or just eye candy under the hood?

Yes I have searched, but it's the same run around with no actual info.

These are what i've found so far just for the type of Brand Name Companies that make them, not the lowest prices available. Now I just wait for your opinions/facts.....

Weapon-R

Stillen
http://stillen.com/product_detail.aspx?sku=307355

5Zigen I searched, but this was all I could find on this product. Guess it's not available anymore?????

Ingalls

Pro-1

Any companies that I have left out?

Hi,
I was looking at these, but the more I though about it, the more I was hesitant in buying one. I have the feeling the engine should move, and if you restrict that you’re putting fatigue on something else. This is just my 2 cent ignorance and I’m glad to hear about this in more detail from people who have better knowledge of this part.

i have the stillen and really like it
i got mine used so price wasnt too bad.

before the engine twisted a lot but now there is little movement in it.
it also seems to get more of the torque to the ground.

I've got the Stillen, is was a bit difficult for my fat hands to fit in the spaces necessary to install, but the install was relatively easy. I think it made a difference, but I am not a very good judge of things like that. There were definitely not any more vibrations, and I'm pretty sure there were actually less.

I also installed the Stillen and was happy with the quality of the product, I know that this mod is not suppose to have as much of an effect on Auto's as it does on MT's but I had just bought the car and was in a MOD frenzy

first thing I noticed was a slight vibration that could be felt in the gas pedal over what was felt before the install, after time I don't even notice it anylonger.
second thing may just be a placebo effect but it seemed to be on the inial start from a red light that it was a little quicker, I tend to punch the throttle from stops.
last thing I really like the location of the stillen low and on the passenger side.
and the install was pretty easy install.

I was looking into the Ingalls "Stiffy" a few month ago. They didn't have one available for the Z/G yet because they hadn't had one to test it on. I found somebody in the area (Colorado) who was willing to be the test dummy.

After they looked at it, they decided there wasn't enough movement of the engine on a Z for the damper to be effective so they decided not to produce one. I assume that the G has the same issue.

Dont waste your time, i bought one from Stillen and installed it. As soon as i started up the car there was alot of engine vibration felt throughout the car. I turned off the car without even test driving it and yanked it from the engine compartment. It looks good sitting in my tool box and thats about it.

For the average driver, using his car on the street, seriously.... I don't think this item is going to make any difference what so ever. And even if you were to track your car every once and a while, if you have only minor mods, i see no point and personally think the money could be better spent elsewhere... (unless you just want more bling under the hood...)
