Service it every 7500 miles with a good synthetic oil and it will last longer than you will own the car. Meaning other things will start breaking and pissing you off making you want a new car before the engine ever wears out.

After 16 years [in June 2006] of Q45 ownership and changing oil every 3,750 or 90 days [even when I ran synthetics] because of small filter size.......that wasn't even $2,000 worth of oil...... $125 per year.

At 305,000 miles not sure why I would want a new car.

I have never had an engine or transmission problem. I have run many japanese cars over 200K, but I usually find that by around 220K I am ready for a new car. I always buy them new and keep them looking new. Around the 200K mark I start to worry about the what-if's. I usually figure that at that point an engine or transmission failure would cost about a year worth of payments. And by that point I have gotten my money's worth out of them.

There are lots of 3.0 VQs that have well over 200K miles and they're still running strong. I've seen some dismantled VQ30s with over 250K miles and you can still see the hone marks on the cylinder walls. My 96 Maxima ran 14.3s with 112K miles on the clock. The car only got quicker as the miles piled on.
