Hey All,
I was going to go in for my 3rd oil change soon, and I was unsure if I should do it every 3000mi or go along with what the maintenance book says?
So far I have done it at 1000mi and 3750mi.
So, should I just do it at 7500 like the maintenance book calls for???

My manual suggests every 6000 km. which is @ 3750 miles.

 

Im old school, still do mine every 3K miles

 

I do mine every 3,000 miles with mobil 1 full syn.

I hardly drive, since I work 2 miles away, so I do it at every 3000 miles OR every 4 months if I don't hit 3000 miles within that time frame.

I've had the car for7 months now and have only 3200 miles on it.

 

I am running that mobil 1 ep that is suppose to go to 7500 or so...i put on 3k so far...gonna go to 4k and see...

every 3K miles. for those doing longer, check your oil level every 1k as some of these engines are consuming oil and you do not want to run out of oil.

 

I thought mobil 1 could last longer than 3k. like 5-7k? i do my mobil 1 at like 4-5

 

I change my oil every 500 miles

 

I went to high school with a girl who added a quart of oil every time she filled up. That car didn't last long.

 

I do it every 3500 miles.

I read in Consumer Reports a while back that... with the great quality of motor oils and their vast improvements in refining the oil "today" one could actually go 5000 miles without harming the engine. The oils starting to "gel" at 7K miles.

But I still do it every 3500 miles.

 

+1. I have had my car for 13 months and have just over 9000 miles. That includes a trip up here to Washington from Corpus Christi - about 3000 miles.

My commute is about 3 miles LOL.. Sucks and is good at the same time. I don't even have time to listen to a whole song on the radio on the way in in the morning.
