Bought 5 Qts. of Mobil SuperSyn 5W-30, and trying to select the best oil filter.
From my research I already know that:
-Bigger is always better - PL14610 or M1-110, not PL14612 or M1-108.
-It is possible to replace an oil filter without draining oil (This is really cool).
-One should switch to synthetic gradually – 5-7 K on the first change (not planning to do more than 7 anyway).
I noticed that M1-110 has a spring in the middle ... this is probably a good thing. Other than that, I see no difference. One thing is clear; none of them introduces pieces of cardboard into the engine. -It is possible to replace an oil filter without draining oil (This is really cool).

I used the PL14610...I can't justify spending 12 a filter when I did blackstone testing with both and the results were almost identical
Thank you very much for you replies!
I should probably rephrase the question:
I already have PL14610 and M1-110. Which one should I use? What’s the best filter to get in the future?
BTW, just got a Purolator engine air filter, and this thing has a metal mesh on the inside. Is this normal?
Thanks again!

Not to hijack, but anyone with links for getting this stuff at good prices (bulk qty) would be nice as well! (thx!)
Well, a little googling later, the purolator filter can be picked up from Advance Auto Parts for 5.88. I can't believe they don't sell Mobil 1 supersyn though!
