Question 05 6MT Coupe Curb Weight

Well, I was looking at the specifications @ the infiniti website and I have noticed that the advertised curb weight is around 3500 lbs. However, the door sticker in my car reads something like GAVWR: 4360 lbs.

I'm wondering... which is the right curb weight for our cars? Is it 3500 or 4360?? Where did they put the extra 860 lbs?? Is it cuz of the premium/sport package?? Or is that 4360 lbs the MAX weight of our car (with the 3 EXTRA FAT passengers weighin 200+lbs each)?

If our cars is actually 4360 lbs, we are driving super small SUVs!! and that sux performance wise...

Any1 ever thought about our curb weight? or actually know which one is supposed to be??

My Owner's Manual says to see the F.M.V.S.S. certification label on the driver's side lock pillar . . . 4,360 lbs.

Angry

wow, so it means our car has an extra 800+ lbs than advertised??

That's a LOT of extra weight...

Our cars really weigh 4360?? Doesnt Frontiers and such weight just around 5000lbs??

Also, I can't believe that the Sedans and Coupes weigh about the same... By its looks, the Sedans should be heavier no?? With the extra doors, windows, roomier seats... etc...

WTH??

The curb weight of both the coupe and sedan, 6mt for 2005, was 3512 IIRC. You are getting Curb Weight confused with Gross Vehicle Weight.

Google's definition of Curb Weight: "The weight of an unmanned vehicle without cargo, but including fuel, necessary fluids, and all standard equipment.".

Google's definition of Gross Vehicle Weight: "The maximum loaded weight (including the vehicle itself, passengers, and cargo) for which a vehicle is designed, as specified by the manufacturer. Often used as a criterion of vehicle size for the purpose of legislation; the exact definition may vary depending on the jurisdiction.".

For the 05 models, the coupe and sedan were advertised as having the same curb weight. Prior to 05, the sedans were marginally lighter.

Yes, the sedan has extra doors, but the coupe doors are *much* larger and heavier.

And the 3512 should be the light model, such as my hardtop 6MT w/out Premium or Nav. Add more for those options.
