FS: ECU/Computer 2005 G35 6 speed

For Sale: $200.00 shipped OBO (continental us)

ECU from a 2005 6 speed. I bought it off ebay a while back as a spare and ended up never using it. I left the tag on it from where i purchased it as it has the vin # in case of referencing part #'s. I'm not sure how the itrader thing works but I have over 4000 dollars in verifiable purchases and sales on this forum. Paypal Only. thanks!

Not quite sure what your asking.... I think they are only specific to the year and type of transmission.... they may be interchangable between the 05-06 but I wasn't sure so didn't want to advertise that.....

opinions anyone

When I worked at a dealer, I remember a customer's ECU taking a crap on them and they had to order an ECU specifically for their VIN.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's how our ECUs are.

Not really sure.... was it an infiniti dealership?..... I know when Iv'e ordered parts before at the dealership they asked for my Vin to ensure that the part matched the specific vehicle. Im sure we have some experts on here that will know... the guys i bought it from online said it would work in my car.

I bought a Stillen stage 3 kit and knew it piggy backed off of the ECU so wasn't sure what all was invloved so I bought the extra one just incase you had to modify the ecu box but it had no probs working with mine so I'm selling this one.

From the reading I've done on the subject in the past, Johnny is correct. I've been told these can be reprogrammed to work in another car, but not sure of the steps involved.

It is a good price for an ECU though.

I know I'm bringing up an old thread, but knowledge needs to be spread
ECU's are specific to the car (Nissan calls them ECM's). Your immobilizer is in the ECM. You'll have to program your new ECM to recognize your keys or you won't be able to start your car. Also your VIN number gets programmed into the ECM. It's in our maint/repair manual under chapter EC.

^ya but why does that matter what ECM you use, if it all gets reprogrammed by the dealer anyhow. the dealer inputs the VIN # and matches it to your keys and BCM.

I'm sure still need to match non-rev to non-rev and tranny type, but year and VIN shouldnt matter

I would think they might have used different chips through out the years

Either way with Osiris I don't see how you cannot backup your whole ECM and flash it on to a replacement if you made a backup while the ECM was still good

Also Rich I think that is why Cobb and Osiris required different Roms in the beginning to see what was different and what was the same between different ECM
