Thumbs up Otober 2009 Texas Mile

Went to the Texas Mile this Saturday (www.texasmile.com) and had a blast. Top speed when I left was a Suzuki Hayabusa at 251 mph! The Porshe boys clobbered the Vette boys big time, almost all of them went at least 190+ and a few did 204+, the Vette guys were struggling to break 180. Great time. Here are some pix:

This thing was a beast!!!

This thing was the biggest dissapointment, less than 160mph...

THIS little GTI, to me, was the "Star of the Show". He ran 198 mph!!!!!!

Anyone know what engine this is?

Everyone should come next spring!

THAT 300CSRT8 looks like my 300C...other than the twin turbo part...and it's black. But other than that, SPOT ON. nice pix.

That could be a VR6 motor in that GTI. It looks like the manifold the VR6 is known for was replaced for something more direct, but thats just my guess due to the fact the valve cover looks like its supposed to have something there.

Im a former VW guy..the engine in that car is the older 12v Vr6 motor Pre ('02). The newer (02+) 24v Vr6 motors have the ability to make even more power but both can make huge amounts of power under boosted applications. Before I wrecked my car and got my G, I was preparing to purchase a turbo set up that was making like 600whp. Not bad in a car this weight.
