September DFW G owners meet - *PLANNING*
Really only 4 people interested so far?? Oh now I get it ... it's not a meet that's within 4 minutes of Plano so it's too far
C'mon DFW G's!!
Maybe I'll have to reach out to the my350z gang and see if we can get a bigger group so we can sign up for the car club registration!

I have never been to a track, so your advice is needed!!!
Anyone ever done anything like this, doesn't sound like a "track" day to me (fine print said single file, pace car sets speed limit). Is it always like this? Do you have room to really run your car? Not so interested in dropping some bucks simply to cruise around the track.... Can anyone explain how this works?

Basically you go out onto the track with about 20 other cars..
There is a pace car doing about 75-80 mph
The big rule is that you are not allowed to pass anyone.
I have done this event several times and its a lot of fun. They are not very strict on you slowing down and "catching back up" to the rest of the croud. I do this every time and have seen speeds of almost 140 at the end of turn two.
Its a huge rush and I highly recommend doing it at least once.

Great explanation Dave! No this is not a typical "track" event like you would expect at Motorsport Ranch or Texas World Speedway, etc...
The first thing that should be pointed out is that this is going for a good cause as all proceeds will be donated to charity! For that small donation you will get a chance to drive around the 1.5 mile track with banked turns at 24 degrees at high speeds!
Now if we want to do another activity before or after as part of a monthly meet we can definitely do that! If we go to TMS as part of a car club we will be on the track somewhere between 5pm - 7pm and most likely we will all be able to go out in the same group (which means we will need a dedicated photographer to go with!).
As for doing something before going to TMS, I would say it would have to be done sans alcohol ... and we all know that our meets are WAY more fun when they are avec (with) alcohol!!
So it would be my suggestion that we could all do dinner somewhere after the laps?? What does everyone think?
My suggestion for a dinner after the laps would be in Southlake around the Southlake Town Center area which is right off 114. There are plenty of restaurants and bars out there but it will be difficult to get a large reservation on a Saturday night. I already made a call to Snuffer's bar at the Southlake Town Center and they can't hold a big reservation on a Saturday night but they said they could probably do call ahead reservations. There are plenty more options beyond that - here are the dining places just in the Town Center.
Also as for a meeting place before, depending on the number of cars coming out I'm sure we could do a meetup around North Dallas and then drive to the track. I only live about 8 miles from TMS but (time permitting) I'd be willing to drive out to the meetup location and roll with the rest of the group! There is some interest from some of the my350z crew to join along as well!
