Where's the FW love in these DFW meets?

Stop complaining and just go. I've been making them and I'm from Glen Rose.
Time for someone to man-up really ;-)
Now that my roommate moved out and vacation is all over I need to get out. Lets go back to Grapevine park. I like that place.

ya know, I thought about this after the DNE meet thread... the DNE president himself lives in Arlington and he makes it to every single DNE, G, and then some meet. He misses a few of course, but he always makes the drive. Not expecting you to cause that's a lot of mileage and gas that he doesn't worry about. But still.
We have definitely had quite a few G meets in the Grapevine and Mid Cities area. Just when BeerViper is the only one who's near the meet location and he's had to miss the last few, we're end up putting it where most people are.
However, with all that said, I third/fourth/whatever the count is at now the notion to schedule something up! Many members have scheduled their own meet with great success. Where's TequilaG35 when I need him?
If you plan it, they will come.

I'm considering setting something up in October right now, when the airshow is in town. September, I could try to set something up then too. It's not like I have tons of free time on my hands, lately I've been putting in almost 30 hours of OT at work each week so I don't even have time to mow my yard on weekends.

I realize this post wasn't about me in particular, but for the record, I don't mind driving for meets. Hell, I was thinking of going to the Houston G37 monthly meet last month, but the weather looked "iffy" so I chose not to. My original point was just that this is consider the "DFW G Owner's Club" and I just wondered why we didn't have meets closer to a nuetral area for all of D F W.
I'd be kidding myself to think I'd get a decent turnout if I made the meet in Burleson (close to where I live) or West Fort Worth.

Alright, I think I figured out the solution for us.
Let's go ahead and split the club into two.
One for Dallas, and one for Fort Worth. That would solve any issue of having the Dallas meets in the Dallas area.

Wow mannnn this thread is going in the wrong direction. Op just set a date an make it happen even if turn out isn't what you expect, it have to start somewhere then maybe by the second time round it will have a better turn out
If someone sets it up, we'll try to make it. I mean I plan stuff that's close to me and most other members. But we've had a lot of meets on the west side of town. Arlington, Bedford, Grapevine, etc...
Just cuz I don't post a meet doesn't mean someone else can't coordinate. Logistically I don't know that area and don't know where a good spot would be.

Again I will say, if you want a meet on that side of town then please provide details as to time, date, location and everyone will try to make it. If I don't know that side of town well, it's kinda hard to come up w/ a solid location.
I have zero problem driving an hour to a meet. We used to have meets at Posado's in Bedford all the time. I'd get off work and drive through an hour of traffic to get to those meets for some cars, beer, & grub.
We've had meets at Motorsport Ranch, Grapevine, Bedford, Euless, Arlington, Downtown Dallas, SMU area, Addison, Plano, N. Dallas, Richardson, and Garland just to name a few.

yes we did...... wow will....what happend to the old days when me and you would organize a meet and everyone would show up no matter where the place. these new G guys are hard to please now and seem to put no effort in wanting to actually DRIVE somewhere for a meet. when I lived in Ft.Worth I drove anywhere to where the meets were at....wow...and now they want to segregate the club into ft.worth....dallas?....wow. I guess Im not missing much not living in the DFDubb anymore.
