Haha we test drove the EX this past weekend. It is not much faster than my wife's FX35, which is not anywhere close to faster than any G (Except maybe WannabeSport's hehe). And it is WAY slower than both the 2nd gen sedan and (even more so) the new G37 coupe.

That said, it is a nice little car that feels most familiar to a CRV or an RDX -- both of which it is substantially faster and more capable (handling wise) than.

One thing we found weird -- there is no sports package for the EX35. The stock suspension is quite soft, with noticeable body roll compared to my wife's sport-equipped FX35 and my G37S. I think $43k is way too much for this thing.

Damn, I am eager to test drive one myself. If your perceptions are correct, the only plus for me of driving the new EX would be its awesome interior. Oh well. I will reserve my judgement until I get my hands on one...

I'd have to partially disagree, as the EX felt almost "as" fast as the 05 loaners I usually get. Doesn't the FX weigh substanially more than the EX? The only issue we are having is that my wife loves the EX, but the back seat has less room than her CR-V, but she thinks the FX is too big. If the EX had 3 more inches of rear legroom, this would have already been a done deal.

The EX feels slower, because it takes significantly longer to go through its gears.

You guys have to keep in mind that 2nd gear is good for 80 mph

We have 4 @ Southbay Infiniti also. I took my wife in to test drive one and to maybe trade in Her FX35. I can get her a good deal because I work there and she was like" I'll keep my FX Baby". She was not impressed at all.

???

I thought the EX had the same gearset and FD as the G? At least that's what the spec sheet at Nissannews suggests. No one will deny that the EX is slower than the G being that it's about 200-300 lbs. heavier and slightly down on power, however I think the biggest thing is that it "feels" slower than the G as it's exhaust note is much more subdued and the car is slightly less quick on its feet compared with the G35.

I'm not sure we're disagreeing -- the 05 sedan is first gen. It's good for what? 5.8 0-60 and 14.1 in the 1/4 mile @ 99mph? The 2nd gen sedan is much faster and feels it. The EX compares OK to the first gen sedan in speed, but either way it does not feel "fast." To me it slots in between the FX and the old sedan. I'm guessing 0-60 of 6.0-6.5 from our brief test drive.

Hardly slow, but it's all about what you are used to

I thought the back seat was usable -- not something that would stop me from considering the vehicle if everything else was in line. The handling was about like a non-sport FX35 -- that is to say, too soft/mushy for my wife's tastes. We hit the driveway at the dealership at an angle and the EX rocked multiple times from side-to-side... kinda felt like a boaty-SUV or old soft sedan. Weird. The rest of the time it felt OK with a vague mushyness.

The EX is a great vehicle and the interior is nothing short of astonishing. One thing I did notice, though, was that the rear windows are not tinted. Very odd for an SUV these days since most are (including the FX). Just an observation, amazing automobile nonetheless.

Sorry if this is a repeated question, but will Infiniti continue to sell the FX?

Will they get an interior/engine upgrade as well?
