some comments after a day with a loaner EX
had a loaner EX35 for the day, and if any one cares, here's some of my thoughts on it:
it's very spacious up front, and from the drivers seat feels very big.
i would not want to be in the back seat.
quite a comfortable ride, almost too soft compared to my old G.
cornering is a tad hairy.
engine has good power, subdued exhaust, but when on the pedal has a beautiful tone, esp at 7000+rpm (passing).
driving, it feels like a much larger vehicle.
interior was very nice, though it took me a while to figure out where every thing was, buttons hard to see for a tall guy like myself.
great open window air flow, (had to with the 24deg C sunny weather today).
the whole not having a key took some getting used to.
overall, very nice car, but not really my cup of tea, though i'd recommend it to my caddilac loving friends.
oh, and despite my heavy foot, decent fuel economy.
just some comments, for what they're worth.

i'm driving one now! its a nice ride but like most CUV or whatever they're called when you try to make two things at the same time (car + off-road vehicle) you fail at both, but thats not the EX's fault. Its not fast or agile enough like a car or rugged and off-road capable like a true off-road vehicle. Great for the non-enthusiast masses i guess.
I'm driving an '08 EX35 loaner right now.
I'll have it for a couple days, so i'll give my opinions when i turn it back in. Still learning what all the buttons do. This one has all the bells and whistles. My initial impression is that I want my G35x back however. Sorry EX owners.

Day 2 with the EX35. It's growing on me. I still think it's ugly as sin, and lacks highway passing power, but the technology it has is amazing! I'm still loving the camera system on it. The EX is just too small for me. The backseat is tiny and i just don't like the exterior styling...but it drives nice. It's growing on me. i would prefer to get a G37 and get all the same options included.

I'm driving a loaner 08 as well. As a soccer mom's car it's nice but the handling and acceleration just doesn't compare to the g35x. I didn't check the specs but it doesn't seem to have all that much more space either than the sedan. No surprise that my dealer couldn't give those away when I bought my g last year.
lol. I have an EX35 loaner, as well.
That review is spot on. I just wish they could transfer the technology inside that car into my g35.
The whole keyless thing I have really grown fond of. I love just walking up to the car, pushing the button to unlock it, then pushing a start button to start the car.
I don't think I would ever buy one, but if someone ever gave me one, I would be extremely grateful. :P

And I also can't wait to get my G35 back. I miss my car sooooooooo much. They said it was supposed to be done on Friday, now they are pushing it to Monday, and I'm doubting it will be done then. Crossing my fingers for Wednesday.
i just had a G37 loaner, i love everything (exhuast tone, technology, cabin, engine, 7AT) more than my 06 Sport , but the steering is too wobbly on the freeway compare to G. my loaner was a base of course, how tight is EX's steering? i would think it would be softer
I spent 5 days in an G35X sedan and I am surprised at how much I prefer my EX 2WD over this car.
The G exhaust was louder as has been noted before but the tire noise from the Good Year LS tires was way louder than the 18" Dunlops on my EX. At 70 MPH the noise level in the G was annoying and way more than I had expected. This car had 11K on the ODO and the tire wear was even; I check these things. I haven't driven a 328 or 335 for a while but I remember them to have more pleasant sounds at freeway speeds.
The G35X felt more nose heavy than the EX but the shock dampening and roll control was more suited to faster cornering. That is until you get on the gas hard and get the understeer induced by the AWD. The AWD system in the G seems to amplify understeer making the steering feel heavier and somewhat deadened in the middle of corners. Seldom did I feel like the AWD was helping anything on dry pavement. Since the AWD system is a computer controlled giving the driver the ability to adjust the front to rear torque bias wouldn't be hard. The shock valving was pretty good though, firm without being too harsh when hitting bumps. The EX shocks are tuned more for ride comfort.
One side comment, GM's (delco) magnetic shock technology is excellent. I had the MagRide shocks on my Corvette and I loved them; Ferrari has licensed GM's mag shock technology. My perfect car would have a HUD, AVM, and mag shocks.
G35x acceleration off the line was helped by the lower final drive ratio or gears. Once moving it didn't feel any faster than my EX 2WD. The lower final drive ratio made downshifts to use engine braking generate higher RPMs and noise. The EX is much smoother.
One deal breaker for me with the sedan is the backseat doesn't fold down. I had to disassemble my bike to transport it to the ride I did this weekend. With the G electronics I quickly grew to miss my EX's AVM. I also found the G's intelligent cruise control was just as dumb as on the EX. I hate it when it slows the car down going around a nothing corner.
I picked up my EX35 this afternoon and was quickly won over by the smoothness and quietness of the wagon over the sedan. The reduced noise level and drive-train smoothness immediately made the EX seem more luxurious. My main EX complaint is roll control on turn in; easily improved with more aggressive sway bars. Too bad better bars aren't available in the aftermarket yet.
The local dealer experience was excellent and it was nice to have the G35 to drive over the weekend.
