If you search this site for the 06 or 07 G35 Coupe;

http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/pr...callSearch.cfm

You will see there is indeed a fairly recent recall on the headlights.

It's real, but not released yet. Probably not until next month. Now, here's the question, should we continue the GB? Remember, they won't conduct this recall if your VIN isn't a '06...

I talked to Chad and he said he already has the modified headlight units.
I asked if I could still get the old one and I believe he said no all they have now is the modified ones

The actual recall parts are not available yet. They are most likely going to be released in January, as per a phone converstaion I just had this morning with my factory Rep. They will most likely be releasing a two headlamp kit (both left & right) under one part number, only available by how many new units you have in stock and how many vehicles are in need of the recall in your (dealership's) area. So, it comes down to if the current '06 headlamps are good enough for your standards.

Hmm... this news regarding the recall is not good. Usually, manufacturers will only issue public recalls if it doesn't meet documented specs or if it can contribute to and or cause a safety hazard. With headlights, I would venture to guess that both reasons may be the cause of the recall.

Can you update us on the availability of the new "Modified" '06 headlights?
