Dam $100.00 over market price? That's a little out of hand. I'll pass...

Fedex just dropped off my grille!! Looks really good right out the box. I'm think of going gloss black to match my rear diffuser or maybe I should do a satin black on both ...dunno yet. I don't have any really experience with FG and how strong it is. The bottom tabs kinda look fragile so I'm being extra careful with it. OVERALL excellent grille!! can't wait to get it installed.

BIG Thanks IONIC!

$100 over market price? What are you considering "market price?"

Say you buy a used OEM grille to do the emblem delete mod yourself. That grille will, on average, sells for $60-$80. For your sake, let's say it costs $60. The required materials for the emblem delete mod will cost roughly $60. Now you're at $120. Members have said that the emblem delete mod takes anywhere from a full day to a whole weekend, depending on how your skill level. So you're looking at ~$120 + a few hours labor for an emblemless OEM grille rattle canned. If you can do that, then fine. All the more power to yah. I think DIYers are great and I give them a lot of props.

But for those that do not feel comfortable with tackling such a project, spend an extra $50 for Ionic's grille + $10 for paint/primer and you've got yourself an awesome alternative. The net difference would be roughly $60 and a lot of time saved. Total cost is ~$180 ($170 shipped for the grille + $10 for paint/primer). Obviously it'll take a minute to primer/paint, but that's nothing compared to the time it would take to complete the emblem delete mod on an OEM grille yourself.

Bottom line, the difference is about $60. And in both cases you end up with 2 grilles. Your original OEM and an emblemless. Of course you can opt not to buy a spare grille and just work on your original grille. That saves you $60-$80 right there. Then again, you can opt to sell your OEM grille if you buy Ionic's and make $60-$80. Either way you look at it, the difference is ~$60 between the DIY and Ionic routes.

If you can DIY and have the time to, then I suggest you go that route. More power to yah. There's nothing like the feeling of doing something yourself. No one is forcing you to pay "$100 over market price." But for those that do not feel comfortable tackling the DIY route, Ionic is merely offering an alternate option.

I've received this grille unpainted from Ionic already. It comes with a black gel coating. It's got a nice semi gloss finish to it. However, it's not meant to be rocked bare like this. Some areas of the gel are thinner than others and you can see light passing through those areas when not installed. I thought this would be a concern, but as it turns out these spots disappeared when I installed the grille because not enough light can shine through. With all that said, I would recommend having it painted (whether through Ionic, your own body shop, or DIY aka rattle can).
