Air filter removal

Re: Air filter removal
I just did my K&N last week on my coupe (sedan the same). No need to pop rivets and disassemble. Here's my method with a few brused knuckles.
1) Remove One bolt holding to the inside of the frame.
2) Unsnap 4 clamps on box. (this is brused knuckles)
3) Unscrew the clamp on the convoluted rubber connector to throttle body assembly. Clamp closest to box.
4) Work the rubber tube back off the plastic tube attached to the box. This lets you move the rear section of the box around.
5) Lift up the rear section of the box and push back. Box will open enough for you to see the filter...pull it back, up and out.
6) Insert the K&N, it's tight, but doeable.
7) When K&N is fully seated snug the rear section of the box to the front section and work the 4 clamps on the box closed. This is difficult, more brusied knuckles..the K&N is a little thicker that the stock Nissan paper filter so you really have to squeeze the box and work the clamps over till they snap into place.
8) Work the rubber tube back over the rear section tube and tighten the clamp.
9) Reinstall the hold down bolt and your good to go!
(Note: Disconnect the mass airflo sensor harness (electical connector) from the air box tube its easier to work with it out of the way....BUT!!!!!!do not start the engine with it disconnected. Connect it then start.
I have already notice an increase in gas milage with my K&N...you'll also do the same.
Growler

Air filter removal
I just got a K&N replacement filter for my G35 sedan. Only thing is I can't figure out how to remove the air filter. I pulled off the scoop and loosened the bolt holding the assembly but I still can't get the filter out. I could just start taking the intake appart but I just wanted to check and see if there is an easyer way I'm not seeing first. Thanks.
